Lake Sonoma Closure Effective Today 10/7/2013

Dear Lake Sonoma Users and Supporters:

As a result of the government shutdown, Lake Sonoma is closing today.  There will be no camping and no lake or park access.  If you would please pass this along and make sure everyone in your group is aware of this.  Of course we regret any inconvenience this may cause you and look forward to working with you once the shutdown is over.

Willow Creek Trail Closures Notice

LandPathsPlease read!  IMPORTANT note on trail closures & road work update at Willow Creek:

Dear Willow Creek Permit Holder,

Road repair at Willow Creek is in full swing & is expected to be complete within a week.  Due to the recent rains this process has taken a bit longer than expected and we’re grateful for your patience through this work!

This first winter will be critical to road longevity.  In order to ensure that the road cures properly State Parks has requested that equestrians & bikes do not use the main Islands In the Sky road trail until we are through the wet season.  Staying off the road this season will mean enjoying the use of a stable road through many future winters.  We realize that this will significantly impact equestrian & bike use through this winter and we appreciate your help in the effort to stabilize the road for years to come.  The road will remain open to hikers through the wet season.  Seasonal closures for the rest of the trails are not yet in effect and updates on those closures will be posted to the Willow Creek Web Page.

Thank you for your understanding & help in caring for the land at Willow Creek.

Must be preregistered, there will be no on site registration
Bring Your own feed for stock
No fires at individual camps
Children under 18 must ride with helmet
Adult beverages can not be served on Trail
No Firearms ~ No Stallions
Every horse must have a rider
